Our Autumn Term Project is “Animals from around the World”
After the success of our Space Project, this term we’ll be focussing on our own planet Earth, and discovering the amazing diversity of creatures that live in the different countries around our world.
From the animals we find in the steamy, wet rainforests to the arid deserts, high mountain peaks and the ice-cold poles. Children take great delight in discovering the types of animals that can be found, what they look like, what they eat and how they move about.
OFSTED have rated The Children’s House “Good” in all areas!
In our most recent Ofsted Inspection on 22nd February 2022, we were awarded ‘Good’ in all areas of the inspection.
For the summer term we are continuing with our project, “Space”!
Last term the children started a fabulous project all about space. We focussed on the Earth, the sun, the moon and the stars and the children were fascinated to explore our galaxy. We will be continuing with the space theme this term as there are still lots of topics that the children would like to find out more about. We will talking to them about black holes, space launch systems, comets and meteors!
Our project for the Spring term is ‘Jobs and occupations’.
Most young children are interested in what adults do and will often try to incorporate what they have learnt into their role play.

Our Autumn Term Project is “Me & My Family”!
‘Me and my Family’ is a great project for children to explore their identity and the things that matter to them. It will also enable them to find out about others. Families are complex, diverse, interesting and the focal point of a young child’s world. They may consist of two fathers, two mothers, two homes, step-siblings, half-siblings. Talking about, being aware of and sharing their families with others in nursery supports the young child’s confidence and self-awareness.
