We will be kicking off the Autumn Term with our project ‘All About Me!’
This term at the Children’s House will be a tale of two halves. We will be starting off with a very popular project which is perfect for getting to know all of our new children who will join us in September.
Each term at the Children’s House we choose a project that we can loosely base our learning on during the weeks ahead. We like the children to feel really involved with their project, and choose topics that they are interested in, and want to know more about.
This term, to increase child led learning opportunities, we will be asking the children to vote on where they would like to explore, and we will base activities on the most popular destinations!
Most young children are interested in what adults do and will often try to incorporate what they have learnt into their role play.
Each term at Chrysalis we choose a project that we can loosely base our learning on during the weeks ahead. We like the children to feel really involved with their project, and choose topics that they are interested in, and want to know more about.
‘Me and my Family’ is a great project for children to explore their identity and the things that matter to them. It will also enable them to find out about others. Families are complex, diverse, interesting and the focal point of a young child’s world. They may consist of two fathers, two mothers, two homes, step-siblings, half-siblings. Talking about, being aware of and sharing their families with others in nursery supports the young child’s confidence and self-awareness.
After the success of our Space Project, this term we’ll be focussing on our own planet Earth, and discovering the amazing diversity of creatures that live in the different countries around our world.
From the animals we find in the steamy, wet rainforests to the arid deserts, high mountain peaks and the ice-cold poles. Children take great delight in discovering the types of animals that can be found, what they look like, what they eat and how they move about.
